World Bible School

Airport Road church of Christ has an active World Bible School team of study helpers providing about 75 lessons to students in Africa each month. We work directly with two gospel preachers who supply us with student contacts. Each month, we alternate our direct support between Victor Fasonu in Ondo City, Nigeria West Africa and Ephron Mbano, who leads the Bear Valley Bible Institute-Ekwendeni, Malawi (an extension campus of Bear Valley Bible Institute in Denver, Colorado).

Victor (under the oversight of the Austin Chapel Church of Christ, Spring Hill, TN) visits many schools in Ondo City, offering the free WBS courses and gives all interested students (and school teachers!) a short version of the Introductory Course, “The Way To Life.” The students review the material and, using their own Bibles, answer the 20 test questions. Victor scans the answer sheet and student introduction as portable data files (.pdf) and e-mails them to our WBS Coordinator. The answer sheets are reprinted and provided to WBS study helpers for grading. The answer sheets are returned to the students with the next two courses in the WBS Master Series.

WBS students are encouraged to continue to read and study the Bible. Students completing the required number of courses receive a free Bible from Airport Road!

In Malawi, Ephron e-mails us the contact names, mostly from school children within a radius of 75 miles of Ekwendeni. We enroll the students in WBS and provide the lesson materials for each student, starting with “The Way to Life – ESV” followed by the 6-lesson Master Series courses.

This personal approach increases completion of the WBS curriculum and produces students much better prepared to hear, understand and obey the gospel.

“And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations . . .”  Matthew 24:14a
