Ben Crane has played on the PGA Tour for over 15 years. While playing at Torrey Pines in 2016, he made what commentators called the “golf shot of year.” His drive on the 15th hole landed directly behind a tree. To the amazement of the gallery and everyone watching on TV, Crane hit the ball around the tree, onto the green, and into the hole for an eagle. When his friend, Angela Thomas-Pharr, later asked about the shot, Crane explained how he and his caddy utilize a particular strategy in such situations. Their acronym for addressing challenges is OTE – Opportunity To Excel. Rather than focusing on the problem, Crane pictures difficult circumstances as opportunities to excel far beyond the norm, which is wise counsel for us all.[1]

“Jesus replied: ‘It is because you don’t have enough faith!  But I can promise you this.  If you had faith no larger than a mustard seed, you could tell this mountain to move from here to there.  And it would.  Everything would be possible for you’” (Matthew 17:20, CEV).

“I am grateful that God always makes it possible for Christ to lead us to victory.  God also helps us spread the knowledge about Christ everywhere, and this knowledge is like the smell of perfume” (2 Corinthians 2:14, CEV).
