Song Ministry

Continuously striving to increase the effectiveness of singing in the church in order to enhance the praise given to God in worship and to bring people closer to God and to one another.

At Airport Road we believe that singing our praises to God is not only a scriptural commandment, but it is also a fundamental part of who He created us to be.  Because of this, we believe that singing is more than just a small piece of our worship service.  Our songs are a vital part of our worship, our fellowship, and our everyday lives.

A major part of our Song Ministry is Singing at Someone’s House (SASH).  SASH is designed to enhance the musical life and worship of the Airport Road family.  SASH meets one Sunday evening a month in the homes of various volunteers.  We sing favorite songs from across the generations and take time to properly learn new songs which may eventually be introduced into our worship service.  SASH is an intentional effort to bridge the gap between the generations by sharing our common love of a cappella music.

Our Song Ministry also works cooperatively with our Visitation Ministry to sing at local nursing homes and for our shut-ins.  This effort includes an annual Christmas Caroling event.  Our Song Ministry also works closely with our Lads to Leaders program to encourage and support the next generation of worship leaders.

Future plans for our Song Ministry include holding congregational workshops and workshops to develop our current and future worship leaders.  We also hope to begin hosting regional singing events.

If you are interested in participating in the Song Ministry or becoming a SASH host, please let us know.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. Colossians 3:16
